More Actors Sign on for 'Transformers' Movie

“Las Vegas” Hottie and Sitcom Star Join the Cast

(May 10 2006) - Josh Duhamel, one of the stars of NBC's "Las Vegas," and Bernie Mac, star of Fox’s "The Bernie Mac Show," have officially joined the cast of Michael Bay’s live-action “Transformers” film, according to SciFi Wire.

Duhamel, who plays Danny McCoy on "Las Vegas," has recently finished filming a new movie called "Turistas" in Brazil, according to IMDB. “Turistas," according to www.josh-duhamel.com, is scripted by Michael Ross and follows six college students who, while backpacking across Brazil, get stranded in the jungles and imprisoned by a military group with a bloody agenda. The movie, directed by John Stockwell is due out later this year. Duhamel played the title role in David Rosenbaum’s 2004 adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray.”

Mac got his start in show business as a stand-up comedian in Chicago and won the Miller Lite Comedy Search in 1990. His film work includes "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Bad Santa," and "Ocean's Eleven," among others. He’s also been in some marginal straight-to-video movies, such as “Inspector Gadget’s Biggest Caper Ever” and “Lil’ Pimp.” Duhamel and Mac join Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro and Jon Voight.

According to IMDB, Tyrese Gibson (“Four Brothers” and “Flight of the Phoenix”) and Michael Clarke Duncan (“Daredevil” and “The Island”) are also rumored to be joining the cast.

The film is currently in production and is due out sometime next year. - Article by Carma Spence-Pothitt
